$1 Million in Funding for Old Liverpool Road Businesses

Press Release

03.15.2023

Today, at 11:00 am, Town of Salina’s Supervisor, Nick Paro, announced $1 million in funding for the commercial revitalization of Old Liverpool Road.

The town is looking to give back to the small businesses that weathered the pandemic. These funds will be used to make exterior improvements to buildings along the Old Liverpool Road commercial corridor. Improvements can be such items as new siding, landscaping, paving, or other various improvement that will enhance curb appeal. This funding is part of the $3 million American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds provided to the Town.

“We think this is a great way to improve our streetscape and made that business corridor much more attractive,” Town Supervisor Nick Paro said. The 2nd Ward Councilor Matt Cushing stated, “While many cities, counties, and towns are using ARPA funds to balance their budgets or stabilize operations, the Town of Salina is in a very fortunate position to use these funds to directly impact the small business community in our town”

Potential recipients must apply for funds and winners must match any money awarded with 25% of their own funds. Applications will be accepted until April 17, 2023. (FAQ )
